The Submission
SUBJECT MATTER
Can be anything. Write about what you're interested in and be faithful to your readers. Send us your completed work or, if you've got an idea that you think might be right for us, roll up your pitching sleeves. See 'The Pitch' below.
LENGTH
Fiction, features, interviews, scripts, reviews, etc
It's up to you. If we think it's too long for our immediate needs, we'll get in contact with you. We may ask you to shorten the work, offer up an extract or allow us to consider it for future releases.
Poetry
Single poems
We're generally looking for poems up to 100 lines. If your gem is longer, send it to us and we'll let you know if we can work it in.
Suite
Send us a suite of poems, along with a short cover letter.
COVER LETTER
Not essential, unless you're submitting a suite of poems. Send it along with your submission, either in the body of an email or as a separate file. Keep it concise and honest. We're not uptight guardians of class. Degrees aren't essential and neither is a publishing history as long as your ancestry. stop drop and roll is a publication for both established writers and emerging talent.
BIO
Please include a short and interesting bio with your submission. The bio is for inclusion in the 'Contributors' section of the publication. Keep it to 50 words or less.

RTF or word documents are best. Please don't paste your submission into the body of an email and please keep formatting to a minimum (i.e. no fancy fonts or indentation).

Payment
Will be in Australian dollars. How many will depend on its size, your loyalty and other factors, possibly extending to personal hygiene.
The Pitch
If you've got an idea and you want to float it to our island from your bank on the pond, send us an email. Include some information about yourself and a few samples of published work. If you convince us of your brilliance, we'll send you a brief with deadlines and word count.
The Response
May take a week or a couple of months. We follow a strict reading regime to stay lean and fit for our aim to get back to you as quickly as possible.
Publication rights
Copyright of your work remains with you. We request Australian first publication rights, therefore no previously published work will be considered.
